Sequencing 101

Since the 1980s drum machines have greatly influenced the sound of modern pop music. Sequencing 101 covers the history of drum machines, samplers, and grove-boxes, requiring each student produce their first beats on classic drum machines from the 80s and 90s, before learning computer-based drum programming in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) environment.

This six week program is perfect for:

  • Beginners – starting out in music production
  • Seasoned Musicians – Learn to program original drum tracks for performances and recordings.
  • Songwriters – Add some new tricks & tips to your work flow
  • Bands – Program your own beats, fire the drummer. 😉

Drum programming incorporates music fundamentals like tempo, beats per minute, time signatures, notation, song structure, and arranging.
